Row Boat Seascape Painting, Painting a DayHere is my painting for the day. Painting a day. I can't say I do a painting each day but I do paint everyday. I like this painting a lot. It is called Quiet Time, 6 x 6 inches, oil on board.
I have been looking at Gabrielle Munter a lot. She was one of the early practitioners of Expressionism and was Wassiley Kandinsky's lover! It is hard for me to emulate her with these small paintings though. Well, so what! This painting is pretty darned good and a real steal at 49.50 on eBay. And free shipping too.
When I look through books about her there are a lot of photographs of her and other painters. However, I have seen only one picture of Gabrielle Munter with a smile on her face. She looks so dour and sour. She must have been a real peach to spend time with.
